June SOTM Beyond Hope

I have a brand new site of the month, I know I missed last month, sorry but I have had a lot on at work, I’ve just set live a HUGE site that I’ve been working my ass off to get live and I’ve not had much time for other thing, not to mention lacking in inspiration as its all been sucked out in the office.

I hope to be making some more artwork soon I keep looking at the Buffy Forums Challenges and they all look great I’ve started walls several times but I keep running out of steam 🙁 but I wanted to keep up to date so here is my SOTM for June

Reason: For June, I have decided to make Beyond Hope my site of the month. Beyond Hope is a beautiful site with lot of detail and care taken with it. April SOTM Shadow of the Day

I missed last month, been really busy with work, and what with getting the new layout live been super busy. but gave me a chance to get a head start this month 😉 I have awarded Shadow of the Day as Lucid Fanart’s site of the month.

I’ve also been awarded site of the month at two sites last month and this month, I am so proud get get these awards. Last month Christine from Surrender Your Soul awarded me site of the month check out my cute twilight style award. And this month the wonderful Brittany has awarded Lucid Fanart as site of the month and look at my awesome Being Human USA award.

It has been a fantastic month for me not only did I get the two awesome site of the month awards, but I got some art awards over at Buffy Forums. I got Honourable Mention over at the Angelogy challenge for my Legend of the Seeker wallpaper Angel of Death. I have also got 1st Place W00T! for my Angel Poster.

As you can see my last post was a tutorial, I was actually quite surprised when I saw my poll that a lot of you wanted to see more tutorials. I personally think I suck at making tutorials but I’ll try my best. I’m gonna work my way through the Adjustment Layers for Photoshop tutorials, and maybe add in a few wallpaper tutorials when I make new wallpapers I find it difficult to go back and redo wallpapers becuase a lot of the time I just do trial and error its the only advice I give people really play with photoshop and you can’t go wrong.

Not sure what kind of HTML and CSS or PHP tutorials I can give you but if you guys have any ideas or if there is anything you’ve seen on my site you would like to try for yourself just make a note of it in my comments and I’ll make a tutorial on it.

SOTM & Lucid Fanart

If you’ve read my last post you probably voted to see what I could change elucidation-art’s name to, and with a bit of change here and there and waiting to see what you guys think I’ve gone and bought the new domain name Lucidfanart.com and .co.uk I will be setting this up when I change the to the new layout which I am slowly getting there with. I just need to finish the Gallery, and change the logo to the new one and I can set it live… but finishing the gallery may take a bit of time lol.

Firstly I want to apologise to the Site of the Month about how late I am this month, and introduce this months Site of the Month: Staring @ The Sun! view further down for a bit more info on why I’ve chosen Staring @ the Sun for Vision of the Month.

Along with a brand new Site of the Month I also have some brand new affiliates and I’ve also updated a few so check them out.

Reason: I’ve been secretly lurking on Staring @ the Sun since her I saw her Pillars of the Earth Layout.. Not only was it beautiful and easy to navigate around she then changed the layout to the STUNNING…

Happy New Year 2011

A brand new year!!! I hope everyone had a fantastic 2010 and have an even better 2011, my year is already looking up, when I woke up this morning and read my emails on my phone I found that the amazing FioNat has made me site of the month, thank you so much for your kind words and the wonderful award!

And as it is a new year it is also a new month which means a brand new site of the month. I’ve wanted to award SayJay’s Radiance site of the month for ages however she’s been unable to update her site but she’s back and updated her site, and its even bigger and better than before so this month for the new year Radiance is the new site of the month.

I am working hard on my new layout, but there are a lot of bugs I want to fix so it may take me some time, but I’ve got it functioning on my test sever, all the markup is done I just need to fix all the bugs and then code the gallery which is my biggest job as I want to completely upgrade the original script from ZenPhoto and made it custom to suit my needs. this also means not a lot of artwork last month but I have done two new pieces both for Buffy Forums challenges check them out on my side bar.

Oooo… we are getting so close to Christmas!! I can’t wait!!! but I already got what I wanted… SNOW!!! Okay there were quite a few exclamation marks there I’ll calm down lol. Once again this month has gone by so quickly, I haven’t done much artwork, been really busy at work and getting back has been taken longer so had less time to work on my own stuff but I have got a few updates, such as new affiliates, and a seek peek at a new layout I’ve been working on.

December 2010 Apple Cinnamon So that’s the Affiliates, and now onto the SOTM! I’ve been addicted to this site for the past month, each layout change has been better than the last but the latest layout is completely amazing!

Reason: I have recently affiliated with Apple Cinnamon [dot] net and I have to say I am very impressed with her artwork, and her design skills. Not only does Kiera produce fantastic artwork but she has real skills when it comes… [read more]

Like I said above I’ve been working on a new layout I think its going to take a while to get it up, becuase I want to work out all the kinks that are in this layout, and I want to blend the gallery in a bit better than it is right now. So coming soon … I also want to mention this design is subject to change so although its only a sneek peek it may look different in the end 😉

Chosen Art Site of the Month July

Its been a month already, where does the time fly, well I have just put the finishing touches to the new site of the month award which I am going to award to Dana over at Chosen Art check out the award below and the awards page with the new Site of the Month I also have three new affiliates, and one new piece of fanart which you can see further down in this post. take a look at the amazing new affiliates below:

I have been a huge fan of Chosen Art since I got into the fanart biz, and Dana has been a real inspiration over the years, she has this amazing talent for creating fictional scenes, especially with her work with SMG and Dean Winchester, I have seen over time her skill develop and with each new piece get get even more jealous of that skill.

I don’t have much else for an update as I have been really busy with my paid work 🙁 (well avoiding my paid work when I get home so I feel bad if I do fun work) but I did manage to add one new piece of art work, one piece I have wanted to do for a while now, I have finally finished watching Supernatural up to the end of season 5 and I love it, to my soul lol, but I have never seen any fanart on Bobby Singer, and I thought his character was totally amazing in the show, so I’ve created my own, and I’m really happy with it, I wanted to work mainly with stock photography as you see a lot of that kind of art now, and I wanted to pull away from the type of artwork that I am probably most know for (over kill with the Gradient maps lol I know I know its just so easy to use gradient maps to give it a feel) but I tried something new and I think it came out alright.
